TEAM DAYS IN SEPTEMBER 2026
September 29, 2026
We work remotely. A few times a year, though, we all get together in one place ‒ as we did at the end of September, axes in hand.
Axe throwing, pixel games, and pasta at an Italian restaurant
On September 29, our team met up again in Berlin for the first time since our two-day summer party, including our employees from Heidelberg and the Saarland. We got together again for two very enjoyable days of team-building and celebrating together. In this blog post, we’ll once again give you a glimpse into our team days.
Axes
The first activity was axe throwing. And yes: we threw real axes—the on-site organizer gave the last few axes a thorough sharpening just before it was our turn. But the safety measures in place in the rooms put everyone’s minds at ease: injuries were practically impossible. What you learn in ten minutes: Strength doesn’t help. Those of us who swung the hardest at the start took the longest to land our first axe. Just before our arms gave out, some of us switched rooms and decided to chase pixels instead.
Pixels & Pasta
Next, the playing field: a room with a glowing floor where colored squares flash on and off ‒ you have to hit some and avoid others ‒ while the screen on the wall mercilessly keeps track of your score.
The game mechanics can be explained in twenty seconds. The second insight of the day came a little later, though: It’s significantly more exhausting than it looks, but very easy to play ‒ and somehow a great team-building game, even though having more than two or three people on the playing field was almost too much. Overall: Highly recommended for small to medium-sized teams.
We wrapped up the evening at Trattoria Cinque in Kreuzberg with pizza, pasta, and wine.
Food Quiz (WTF Edition)
And then there was a special warm-up at the start of our weekly meeting the next day: a unique food quiz to celebrate the launch of our latest client project. Participants had to guess the name, ingredients, and price of selected delicacies. However, it was rightly pointed out that the project participants had an unbeatable advantage here. Okay, next time we’ll make things more even.
A Look Ahead to the Upcoming Team Days
We’re already looking forward to our next in-person event in December ‒ that’s when our Christmas party is on the agenda. And here’s a little hint: Italian cuisine will be on the menu again in December. A detailed report will, of course, follow here shortly before Christmas. Stay tuned.
