Humanitarian aid instead of gifts: Why we are supporting Doctors Without Borders this year - and want to encourage other companies to do the same.
Humanitarian aid that saves lives
It is precisely in challenging times that we see just how important international solidarity is. That is why this year we would like to shine a spotlight on an organization that has been providing aid for decades in places where medical care is scarce: Doctors Without Borders.
This independent humanitarian organization provides emergency medical aid worldwide—in crisis zones, following natural disasters, during conflicts, or in the event of epidemic outbreaks. With mobile clinics, surgical teams, vaccination campaigns, and psychological support, Doctors Without Borders is often active in regions that would otherwise receive little assistance. A large portion of this work is funded by private donations, which are what make flexibility and rapid deployment possible in the first place.
Why we decided to make a Christmas donation
We would like to use the month of December not only to look back, but also to take responsibility. Our Christmas donation to Doctors Without Borders is a small contribution toward ensuring that people in acute emergency situations can receive medical assistance. The focus here is not on our donation itself, but on the important work it supports. At the same time, we would like to encourage other companies to also consider making a Christmas donation—whether to Doctors Without Borders or to another organization close to their hearts. Even relatively small contributions can have a significant impact in international crisis relief efforts.
Gaza Strip: Aid in the midst of a humanitarian catastrophe
For more than two years now, the people of the Gaza Strip have been suffering from the devastating consequences of the war. Nearly 60,000 people have been killed, a third of them children. Even more people have been injured, some seriously. Ninety-four percent of medical facilities have been destroyed or damaged. Under these catastrophic conditions, Doctors Without Borders is providing life-saving care, including emergency surgery, obstetric care, physical therapy, and psychosocial support. Every day, the teams provide 1.4 million liters of drinking water.
From the start of the war through June 2025, Doctors Without Borders has performed more than 23,000 surgeries and facilitated more than one million outpatient treatments. Amid these enormous challenges, the organization’s work offers an indispensable glimmer of hope for the people in the Gaza Strip.

As we look forward to the holidays, our thoughts go out to those whose daily lives are marked by uncertainty. We stand in solidarity with them.
