AI IN THE ONLINE STORE: INTERACTIVE IMAGES WITH GOOGLE VISION

We use the AI of the Google Cloud API for our customer Bastuck: This allows article numbers to be automatically linked in the technical drawings of the automotive parts manufacturer.
Text recognition with Google Cloud Vision
For our client Bastuck, a medium-sized automotive parts distributor and manufacturer based in Saarland, we are utilizing the artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities of the Google Cloud API.
Many individual parts in Bastuck’s product range are depicted in technical drawings, known as exploded views. Since the part numbers are also listed there, we asked ourselves: Why not link them directly to the online store? This offers significant added value for interested visitors, as it eliminates the need to search through long lists of items.
Since we automate processes wherever it makes sense, we use the API of the AI-powered image processor Google Cloud Vision in the backend of the online shop. This includes integration with our client’s media CMS: Thus, every new technical drawing is immediately recognized as such, sent to the text recognition feature of the Google Cloud API, and subsequently processed. A fully automated process from the upload of the drawing to its display in the online shop. The result is clickable exploded views: so customers can quickly find the product they want. This increases conversion rates and ensures satisfied users.
